A Happy and Prosperous New Year to all.
What an amazing year 2001 was. It is almost as if we were being tested, as individuals, as a nation, in fact as a civilization, as events developed from the last day of 2000 until this first day of 2002. I seem to wake up every morning wondering "what will it be today?"
God only knows how many times I have wondered how it is that I have had the good fortune to spend the last twenty years doing what I do to pay the rent and live my life. How many people can say that they are paid to have lunch with and be able to listen to the sharing of opinions and concerns of the people who control the destiny of the greatest economy the Earth has ever known? If that is not luck, what ever could be?
To get to hear about breakthrough technologies or political paradigm shifts in the way I do week after week must be the best occupation on the planet.
But like all other things in this world the bills do have to be paid, and for that (and everything I am able to enjoy) I have to thank our members who each year choose to contribute to the overhead costs of The Business Forum rather than paying the same amount to a faceless government. I often wonder if the fees for membership could not be written off against taxes just how long we would be able to go on acting as an information source?
So here it is again, contribution time. As always I thank you in advance, and trust that we will continue to be able to repay your generosity and support with forums, articles and news that will keep you ahead of the pack.
