August 1st, 2002
Our web site is now several years old, and yet again I am asking myself where the time has gone. It only seems like yesterday that we were debating the format we should use and sending out trial layouts for comment from our friends, members and supporters. Since then of course it has grown far beyond anything we envisioned back then, thanks in great part to the input from our supporters all over the planet. It is funny how someone asking us if we could put up one link, led to us creating a whole new section of links - to the point where (if they are telling us the truth, rather than just stroking my ego), people all over the world begin their day by logging on to The Business Forum Journal. We also know that many students from Poland to Pakistan use our World Information and Useful Links pages, and our Update Emails have been requested by publications from the Namibian Economist to the South China Morning Post. Having never been known for an abundance of modesty you can imagine how satisfying it is for me to know that 24 hours a day, seven days a week, someone somewhere is using our web site as an information source. Considering that we have never employed a sales force, never had a sales plan or a sales budget, or ever advertised anywhere; it is very satisfying to know that thousands of decision makers from business and government, as well as students and otherwise isolated information seekers all over the world have opted into our update lists. But - (and there is always a "but" is there not?), there are still millions of people who do not know that we exist. So, I want to offer the benefits of what we do to more and more people, but without losing our reputation for growth by one-to-one, personal introduction. That is where you come in my friend. For if everyone who reads this letter were to forward our site on to just two of their friends or associates every month, our growth would be geometric, rather than arithmetic. So I ask you, if you will, to help us and do just that for us. Just cut and paste this address http://www.bizforum.org/www_rec1.htm into your browser and then complete the recommendation process for us, which should take you no more than 30 seconds. In theory two of your friends will be grateful to you, and we will immediately increase our reach into the global business community by thousands overnight.
