2001 has been a really "strong" year for testing
the abilities of Human Resources and Compensation management, and it looks as if the
test is going to continue for some time yet. The dot.com implosion, the
Stock Market retreat, 401(k) Plans losing value overall for the first time since
they were introduced, lay-offs everywhere and mergers and relocations coming as
fast as reduced profit warnings. That is what we live with today, and
every manager is being asked to reverse the downturn individually it seems.
The mantra of everyone from the Boardroom to the stockholders
is "produce more, do faster and better, and do it for less". In
other words "motivate your workers and team mates at a time when morale has
taken a kicking".
So we decided to bring together a cross section of managers
from Human Resources, Marketing & Sales, Information Management and Finance (from larger
organizations) for a "Closed Meeting" where everyone can brainstorm
and learn from and share with everyone else.
If adversity is the mother of invention as it is said,
then the synergetic debate we are hoping to create will cover all of the
following and we will all benefit.
-
Enterprise Resource Planning and Management
-
Increasing Motivation and Team Work
-
Non Traditional Reward Systems
-
Recognition and Motivation Awards
-
Success Tracking and Improvement.
This will be a closed meeting. Numbers
will be limited to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in
the discussion.
There is of course no cost and no obligation
whatsoever placed upon
our
guests by attending and even their valet parking will be paid.
